Finding sites that will teach you about riichi mahjong is damn hard. So hard that I, along with several others, had to learn the hard way. We’re not professional players by a long shot, but we do the most important part anyway. We enjoy the game.
That said – we’re not half bad. Probably not half good either. No matter, this site will feature interesting discussions that come up every now and then, links to our various tournaments (held now and then), and shit like that. What we won’t do is say “this is what you do” in any kind of situation. If anything, we’ll just highlight areas worth thinking about – we’re not fit for teaching, but supposedly you could learn something from our discussions. In the end, it’s your game; you’re the one who makes the decisions, so it’s only fair if you’re the one who does the thinking as well (that way you can’t blame us either).
And whatever it’s worth – we’ll use goddamn proper vocabulary. We won’t have any lucky dragon tiles, or “all crap” hands. Hell no. This is one of the few times you’ll even see them mentioned.
